One of the oldest courses in Italy, that has welcomed many famous golfers, both amateur and professional.

Opened in 1930 the Duke of Windsor first played golf here in 1938. This Par 70, 5,639 metre course will provide a challenge to all levels of golfers, amidst a magical setting combining woodland, hills and rivers

LOCAL WALKS:

SANTA MARGHERITA to PARAGGI and on to PORTOFINO

Walking time – about 2 hours depending how many times you stop to eat and drink!! This is an easy walk and very pretty.

Starting point – the port in SANTA MARGHERITA – walk to the south end where you will see signs for NOZAREGO; turn left in the piazza onto a small street – look out for the painted red cross trail markers. Follow the trail up a narrow footpath, you will see olive groves and charming small houses.

You will reach a road – continue to follow the trail up the hill and then onto another footpath which is along a ridge. Walk for about 45 minutes until you reach a lovely little chapel CAPPELLETTA DELLA GAVE which sits above the sea. Walk down the path through olive groves and you come to PARAGGI – you can rest here for a while on the white sand beach. The last part of the walk takes you along the sea on a shady path until you reach PORTOFINO – you will know you have arrived because you will see splendid yachts and villas and finally the small town. The path will take you to the church of SAN MARTINO close the main piazza where there are many cafes and bars for a nice cold beer!

within the town - from Church of Santa Margherita through the Villa Durazzo garden to the Church of S Giacomo di Corte

out of the town – about 45 minutes walking + bus – to NOZAREGO by local bus to Church of S Maria – walk back to Santa Margherita through PARAGGI

or from Oratorio of S Bernardo – Church of San Siro – to San Lorenzo della Costa by local bus to Garden of Villa Bozano Gandolfi – walk back to Santa Margherita
