Snorkelling

For non-divers we organise regular snorkeling excursions from our comfortable covered boat. This is a great opportunity to see some spectacular views of the Portofino promontory coastline and also to see some marine life.

We stop at the village of San Fruttuoso is set in a magical inlet at the bottom of mount Portofino. The village is built around San Fruttuosodi Capodimonte Benedictine monastery, which includes an abbey which was built in the 13th century, a 10th-century church, a small Romanesque cloister, and the sepulchre of the Doria family who founded the abbey.   San Fruttuoso is only reachable by boat or a very long walk!!

Fifty feet underwater in this beautiful inlet lay the statue ‘Christ of the Abyss’, the protector of all divers. If we’re lucky sometimes you can catch a glimpse of the statue from the surface.

On the way back we stop at Portofino for a wonderful view of the world-famous playground of the rich and famous and to rub shoulders with the super-yachts! Portofino lies to the south of the promontory and is a cluster of pretty painted houses around the little marine square.
